Giving Back

Ever since the wildfires devastated Southern California, I have been looking for a way to help. I reached out to my friend and Executive VP of CFDA (Council of Fashion Designers of America) and she directed me to GLAM4GOOD in LA, to whom we donated 14 cartons of unused apparel to support their cause. We had shelves of beloved first-quality products that date back to 2020 and, as is the norm in fashion, we keep designing new styles and prints every season. So, while I treasure the pieces that launched my Beach to Bistro brand, I am happy to send them on to a new home where they will benefit a deserving cause.

I am one of those people who loves clearing out, and giving things away. It lifts my spirits to streamline and even more to see how a few new things can give someone the lift they need, especially during dark times. I've always maintained that, for me, this fashion business is about more than clothes. I design to bring color, happiness and real craft into the world of creative commerce. I want to make items that make women feel uplifted, comfortable and at ease as they move about their day. The yoga I teach and the meditations I guide are crafted to evoke the same feeling. As a designer, this integration of my lifestyle with livelihood is a direct expression of who I am and how I want to show up in the world. Business does not have to be cut-throat, or wildly profitable, just successful enough to be healthy and strong, just like us. .
